Jamaica at 50 and Marley


Today 6th August 2012, the 50th anniversary of Jamaica's independence seems a good time to remember one of the island's greatest sons:

    I should have looked at your blog since long again, but only managed today. So I saw that you posted about Jamaica´s birthday & Bob Marley exactly on my birthday (the very 6th of August).     The only sad thing for me concerning Jamaica (great people, great music) is the political and historical confusion about Haile Selassie in the Rasta movement. Haile Selassie was in fact a real servant of US interests in Africa, and also today Ethiopia is serving US interests again. But that´s only a side aspect to the Birthday post.
